Every Elitrova product arrives with the manufacturer’s instruction manual. Garden sheds come flat-packed for self-assembly; fire pits, heaters, pizza ovens and BBQs need only light assembly or installation. Here’s how to prepare.
Before you start
- Check your parts. Unpack carefully and check every part against the parts list in your manual before you begin. If anything is missing or damaged, contact us before starting assembly.
- Two people. Most sheds and heavy fire pit tables need two adults – especially for walls, roof panels, doors and lifting stone or concrete tops.
- Pick a calm, dry day. Panels can catch the wind, so avoid assembling in strong wind or rain.
- Tools. Typically a cordless drill/driver, spirit level, tape measure, step ladder and a rubber mallet. Your manual lists exactly what’s needed.
1. Sheds: prepare a level base
Every shed needs a firm, flat and level base slightly larger than the shed footprint – concrete, paving slabs or a purpose-made shed base all work well. A level base keeps doors aligned and the shed weather-tight. Leave around 60 cm clearance on each side for assembly and access.
2. Sheds: build the floor and walls
Lay out the floor panels on your base first, then raise the wall panels one at a time as shown in your manual, securing each before moving to the next. Check corners are square as you go.
3. Sheds: fit the roof
Fit the roof supports and panels in the order shown, making sure each panel locks or screws fully into place so the roof stays watertight.
4. Sheds: doors, windows and finishing
Hang the doors last and adjust the hinges until they open and close smoothly. Fit any windows, shelving and accessories, then anchor the shed to its base using the fixings recommended in your manual.
5. Fire pits, fire tables and pizza ovens
Place gas fire pits, fire tables and pizza ovens on a stable, level, non-combustible surface outdoors, well away from walls, fences, overhanging branches and anything flammable – your manual gives the exact clearances. Connect the hose and regulator to the gas bottle as instructed and check every joint for leaks with soapy water before the first use. Natural gas conversions must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Wood-fired ovens and fire pits should be used with dry, seasoned wood only.
6. Patio heaters
Hard-wired electric heaters (such as Bromic and Heatscope models) must be installed by a qualified electrician at the mounting height and clearances given in the manual. Pergola heaters should be fitted on a side of the pergola that has a blind, at least 180 cm above the floor.
